Websites I Read

With so many great websites out there it’s hard not to share!  Here are some of the websites I read on a regular basis or use as a resource. Some are small independent blogs and others are more substantial company websites – regardless of size, they are all worth checking out.

Hipster Food Great vegan website. Be sure to check out their online magazine ChickPea.

Food52 Just an all around good food blog.

The Kitchn This website is the foodie arm of Apartment Therapy. Great photography abounds and good food info.

Awesome. Vegan. Blog. The name pretty much sums it up.

Cooking Up a Story This site is actually an online TV show and blog dedicated to sustainable living.

One Dollar Project Since the book was launched, the site does not have much content but there are several tasty recipes on the site that are from their $1 a day food ration challenge.

Civil Eats This is a newish site that centres around sustainable agriculture and food systems.

Kris Carr This Wellness Warrior has tons of great resources for eating a plant based diet.

Julie Daniluk Nutritionist and author Julie Daniluk has a robust website with tons of nutrition information and recipes.  Julie’s goal is to motivate, educate, empower and heal.

Mark Bittman Yeah, it’s the NY Times guy.  Good blog.

Shots This is NPR’s health blog.

Elephant Journal This site is all centred around mindfulness.

9 Cup Challenge Join this author on her journey to wellness and longevity. Great info.

WholeFoods Market They are big and they are damn awesome. This website is loaded with food facts, first class tips, recipes and (can you say) coupons. Be sure to check out their blog too.

Organic Garage While this site is lacking in editorial content they have a power-packed flyer posted to the site every two weeks. The deals are exceptional.

Longo’s Market This Ontario grocery chain has an excellent organic offering and their staff is superb.  Their website does not rock my world but the store does.

Real Simple This online version of the magazine always has quality content and – hey, it’s free.

Found Style As a former picker, I love the continually changing collection these stylists have posted for sale on this petite but perfect website.

Zara I am partial to many of the designs at this Spanish retailer.  This zero advertising based company does fit into the fast-fashion model but I love scanning their site for style ideas and I do purchase there on occasion.

Eileen Fisher has excellent minimalist style pieces that make for a good investment.

Value Village Store locator for Canadian Value Village locations. Yes, I buy lots of stuff here and save money and stop stuff from going to landfill.

Salvation Army Store locator for Canada. Love their mantra; Refresh. Recycle. Restyle.
