The Power of Quiet

Single Tree

In an increasingly extroverted world where there is a perception that self promotion and gregarious = good, one has to wonder about the perception of people who keep to themselves.  On this subject there is an interesting new book that shares insights to the power of introverts.  Susan Cain’s book Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking is my next read.  One of the discussion points in the book  that caught my eye was the fact there is no correlation between best talker and having the best ideas.  Comforting words for creative wallflowers indeed.

Instinctively, I’m a thinker and I cherish my alone time but I’ve had to push my comfort zone over the years to become a much more gregarious person.  Are you a talker or a thinker – or both?  Let me know!

Thoughtfully yours,
Anita Marie – @OrganicExpert
